Bohol has many hospitals and medical office buildings mostly located in Tagbilaran City. The best and biggest are the ACE Hospital (Allied Care Experts Medical Center) and Holy Name University Medical Center.
ACE Hospital
Allied Care Experts (ACE) Hospital is just a short 10 minute drive from Bohol Jewel Residences. It is a level 2 hospital with 24 hour emergency room, MRI’s, CT-scan, Ultrasound, X-rays, and complete lab work. It is a new hospital recently built in 2019 and has departments of cardiology, dermatology, endoscopy, oncology, pulmonary, dialysis, neonatal and intensive care units.
HNU Hospital
Holy Name University Medial Center is the second largest hospital in Bohol. It is well established having served Bohol for over 20 years. HNU Hospital has advanced imaging like CT-scan and ultrasound, ambulatory care, surgery, laboratory, cardiology and a dialysis department.
Gallares Hospital
Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Medical Center (GCGMMC) is a tertiary level government hospital in the Philippines with an authorized bed capacity of five hundred twenty five. It is located in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
Ramiro Hospital
Ramiro Community Hospital in Tagbilaran is a mid-level hospital providing Hemodialysis, Digestive Health, TB Center, Cardiovascular care, Eye and ear center and surgery.
In general the health care in Bohol is fairly good. Most appointments and procedures can be safely performed here. If more advanced care is needed, Cebu City is a 2 hour ferry ride and provides world-class hospital facilities at Chong Hua Hospitals, Cebu City.
Insurance that is accepted here include PhilHealth, as well as private Philippine insurance carriers like SunLife, ManuLife, and Allilanz Care. Please note that PhilHealth, the government run healthcare agency, is very affordable but will only cover about half of costs of procedures and surgeries.
